Overview

aTRPA1 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Oblique Therapeutics for the treatment of pain. It targets the Transient Receptor Potential Ankyrin 1 (TRPA1) ion channel, a member of the TRP family of ion channels that acts as a sensor for noxious stimuli and is involved in the development of inflammatory and neuropathic pain. The antibody was identified using Oblique's proprietary Abiprot platform, which is designed to discover functional antibodies against difficult-to-target membrane proteins like ion channels and GPCRs. By inhibiting TRPA1, aTRPA1 aims to provide a novel analgesic therapy with a high degree of specificity and potentially fewer side effects than traditional pain medications.
