Overview
ATRS-1902 is a **liquid stable formulation of hydrocortisone** developed for the emergency treatment of **acute adrenal insufficiency (adrenal crisis)** in adults and adolescents[1][2][3][4][5]. Unlike current therapies that often require reconstitution and multiple administration steps, ATRS-1902 is delivered via the Vai proprietary auto-injector device, enabling rapid, simple, and effective self-administration during a life-threatening adrenal crisis[1][3][4][5]. Its mechanism of action is as a **glucocorticoid receptor agonist**, mimicking endogenous cortisol effects to restore hemodynamic stability and suppress inflammation[5][13].
