Overview

ATT001 is an iodine‑123 radiolabelled poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor developed as a targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy for cancer. It delivers its radioisotope payload, Iodine‑123, directly to cancer cells expressing PARP, an enzyme involved in DNA repair that is highly expressed in several cancers. The emitted low-energy Auger electrons from Iodine‑123 cause lethal DNA damage within the targeted tumor cells while sparing healthy tissue due to their short range. This approach enables both therapeutic and diagnostic applications (theranostics). The drug is being developed by Ariceum Therapeutics, with Theragnostics as the originator. Its primary indication is glioblastoma, where it has entered phase I clinical trials; it remains preclinical for other solid tumors[1][3][7][8].
