Overview

ATX-104 is a small molecule inhibitor of Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation protein 1 (MALT1), a paracaspase that plays a critical role in the signaling pathways of the T-cell receptor (TCR) and B-cell receptor (BCR). Developed by Athelas Therapeutics, ATX-104 is designed to modulate immune responses by inhibiting the proteolytic activity of MALT1, which is essential for the activation of the NF-κB pathway and the subsequent production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. This mechanism makes it a potential therapeutic candidate for the treatment of various autoimmune diseases and certain types of B-cell lymphomas where MALT1 activity is dysregulated. By targeting MALT1, ATX-104 aims to provide a more selective approach to immunosuppression compared to broader inhibitors of the NF-κB pathway.
