ATX2417 is an oral small molecule drug developed as a CRTH2 (chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Th2 cells) antagonist. It was initially developed by Atopix Therapeutics for the treatment of Th2-mediated disorders such as asthma and atopic dermatitis. The drug acts by blocking the CRTH2 receptor, thereby reducing eosinophilic airway inflammation—a key driver in chronic respiratory diseases like asthma. ATX2417 has completed Phase 1 human safety studies and is considered a back-up candidate to OC459, another CRTH2 antagonist from the same developer.
