Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Au-SM5-1** is an experimental antibody-targeted gold nanoparticle therapeutic for hepatocellular carcinoma. It consists of gold nanoparticles conjugated with SM5-1, a humanized murine monoclonal antibody that recognizes p230, an approximately 230 kDa tumor-cell membrane protein overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma. In preclinical HCC cell and mouse models, Au-SM5-1 produced greater tumor-growth inhibition than unconjugated SM5-1, with reported antiproliferative and proapoptotic effects.
