Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AU018 is a small molecule drug in preclinical development by Auransa. It is designed as a cardioprotective agent to be paired with chemotherapy, specifically doxorubicin, for the treatment of cancer. The compound was identified using Auransa’s AI-driven SMarTR Engine and has demonstrated the ability to correct pathways associated with oxidative and cellular stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and RNA splicing. Preclinical studies in human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived heart cell models showed that AU018 can reverse molecular signatures of cardiac toxicity without interfering with the anti-tumor activity of doxorubicin[1][2][3]. Its primary intended use is to mitigate chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity.
