Overview

AUDA (12-(3-adamantan-1-yl-ureido)-dodecanoic acid) is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH). By inhibiting sEH, AUDA prevents the conversion of epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs)—bioactive lipid mediators with anti-inflammatory, vasodilatory, and neuroprotective properties—into their less active diol metabolites. This stabilization of EET levels leads to a broad range of therapeutic effects observed in preclinical models, including the reduction of neuroinflammation, protection against cardiac and renal injury, and the alleviation of symptoms in conditions such as ischemic stroke, diabetic cardiomyopathy, and chronic kidney disease. AUDA is widely utilized as a pharmacological tool and reference compound in studies investigating the arachidonic acid metabolic pathway and the therapeutic potential of sEH inhibition.
