Overview

AUNP-12 is a synthetic branched peptide immune checkpoint modulator that acts as an antagonist of the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) pathway. It is composed of two linked peptide chains with a total of 29 amino acids and was engineered from the PD-L1/L2 binding domain of PD-1. AUNP-12 blocks the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands PD-L1 and PD-L2, as well as the PD-L1/CD80 pathway. By inhibiting these interactions, it restores T-cell proliferation and effector functions suppressed by tumor cells expressing these ligands. Preclinical studies have shown that AUNP-12 exhibits potent antitumor activity with favorable tolerability profiles in animal models. The drug was developed by Aurigene Discovery Technologies for potential use in cancer immunotherapy[4][6][5][2].
