**AuNP-BBN-Pt3** is an experimental, GRPR-targeted gold-nanoparticle nanotherapeutic designed for prostate cancer theranostics. It comprises a small gold nanoparticle core functionalized with a thiolated DOTA derivative, the bombesin-derived GRPR-targeting peptide BBN[7-14], and a Pt(IV) platinum prodrug connected through a PEGylated linker. The BBN ligand is intended to promote uptake by gastrin-releasing peptide receptor-positive tumor cells, while the Pt(IV) payload is intended to generate DNA-damaging platinum activity after cellular activation. AuNP-BBN-Pt3 was evaluated in GRPR-positive PC3 prostate cancer cells as part of a preclinical nanoparticle series; it has not been reported as a clinical drug product.
