AUR103 (Aurigene Oncology)

AUR103 is a small-molecule inhibitor of the Mouse Double Minute 2 (MDM2) protein, currently under development by Aurigene Discovery Technologies for the treatment of solid tumors. MDM2 acts as a primary negative regulator of the p53 tumor suppressor; it binds to p53, inhibiting its transcriptional activity and promoting its degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. By disrupting the MDM2-p53 interaction, AUR103 stabilizes p53, leading to the reactivation of p53-mediated signaling pathways that induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells harboring wild-type p53. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical studies.
