Overview

AUR300 is a novel peptide therapeutic designed to modulate M2 macrophages, a type of white blood cell implicated in fibrosis and autoimmune disorders. Its mechanism of action involves antagonism of the fibroblast activation protein and targeting of the macrophage mannose receptor CD206 (also known as MRC1) on M2 macrophages. By disrupting dysregulated M2 macrophage activity through CD206, AUR300 aims to reduce fibrotic processes and inflammatory cytokine production. It was originally developed by Riptide Bioscience and later advanced by Aurinia Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with University College London. AUR300 had been investigated for potential clinical applications in autoimmune disorders, systemic scleroderma, and fibrotic diseases but its development was discontinued after reaching preclinical or early clinical stages[1][2][4][5][7].
