Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AuraSTOP is a dietary supplement (nutraceutical) developed and marketed by Aesculapius Farmaceutici, primarily indicated for the prevention and management of migraines, including those associated with aura. It is a fixed-dose combination of three active components: *Tanacetum parthenium* (Feverfew) extract, *Griffonia simplicifolia* extract, and Magnesium. *Tanacetum parthenium* is standardized for parthenolide, which acts as an anti-inflammatory agent by inhibiting NF-kappaB and reducing the release of serotonin and prostaglandins from platelets. *Griffonia simplicifolia* is a natural source of 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), a direct precursor to serotonin, which helps modulate pain thresholds and mood. Magnesium serves as an essential mineral that regulates neuronal excitability, often by acting as a physiological antagonist at the NMDA receptor. Together, these ingredients aim to reduce the frequency and intensity of migraine attacks and counteract localized tension.
