Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Auresine R (AurR) is an engineered recombinant enzybiotic (bacteriolytic enzyme) developed by the Mossakowski Medical Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It is designed to selectively target and hydrolyze the peptidoglycan cell wall of *Staphylococcus aureus* while sparing beneficial commensal skin bacteria such as *Staphylococcus epidermidis*. By selectively eliminating *S. aureus* and restoring the balance of the skin microbiota, Auresine R is being developed as a topical therapy for inflammatory skin conditions associated with dysbiosis, primarily atopic dermatitis, as well as psoriasis, impetigo, and prurigo nodularis.
