Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Auricularum is a fixed-dose combination ear drop suspension developed by Laboratoires Grimberg for the local treatment of ear infections. It is indicated for bacterial and fungal otitis externa, as well as chronic otitis media (both pre- and post-operatively). The formulation combines four active ingredients to provide comprehensive anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal activity: dexamethasone (a synthetic glucocorticoid that reduces inflammation), nystatin (a polyene antifungal that disrupts fungal cell membranes), oxytetracycline (a tetracycline antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis), and polymyxin B (a polypeptide antibiotic that disrupts bacterial outer membranes).
