Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Auridrol is an otic solution developed by Epitech for the treatment of pediatric ear conditions, including external otitis and inflammation of the auditory canal. The formulation is based on ALIAmide (Autacoid Local Injury Antagonism) technology, containing adelmidrol (a synthetic analogue of palmitoylethanolamide) and trans-traumatic acid. Adelmidrol acts via the ALIA mechanism to modulate mast cell degranulation and non-neuronal immune cell activity, thereby reducing local inflammation, pain, and pruritus. Trans-traumatic acid contributes to the restoration of the epithelial barrier. It is marketed as a medical device in the European Union for the management of ear canal microenvironment disturbances.
