Overview
Aurix is an autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) gel used as a topical wound treatment. It is created from a patient’s own blood at the point of care and applied directly to chronic non-healing wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and pressure injuries. The mechanism of action involves concentrating and activating the patient's platelets to release growth factors that stimulate tissue repair and accelerate healing. By utilizing autologous PRP, Aurix reduces the risk of immune rejection or allergic reaction. Clinical evidence supports its efficacy in improving healing rates for chronic ulcerations compared to standard care[6].
