Aurocarpine

Aurocarpine is an ophthalmic pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Aurolab, containing the active ingredient pilocarpine nitrate. As a small molecule cholinergic agonist, it targets muscarinic receptors in the eye to facilitate the drainage of aqueous humor, thereby reducing intraocular pressure. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Additionally, Aurocarpine is used to induce miosis and to prevent postoperative spikes in intraocular pressure following laser eye surgery. It is available as a topical ophthalmic solution and a sterile solution for intracameral injection.
