Aurograb is a human-derived single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibody therapeutic developed for the treatment of severe, deep-seated Staphylococcal infections, particularly those caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Its mechanism of action involves targeting the *Staphylococcus aureus* ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter GrfA, an immunodominant antigen identified in septic patients. Aurograb was designed to act as an immunostimulant and was evaluated as an adjunct to standard vancomycin therapy, with preclinical studies showing synergistic effects in reducing *S. aureus* burden in animal models. However, clinical trials failed to demonstrate efficacy in humans[1][3][7]. Development was discontinued after disappointing results in Phase II/III trials[5].
