Overview

Aurolab ProGel is an ophthalmic viscosurgical device (OVD) developed and marketed by Aurolab, an Indian ophthalmic products manufacturer. It is a sterile, isotonic, pyrogen-free viscoelastic solution containing 1.4% w/v ultra-high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate. Classified as a medical device, it is used during intraocular surgical procedures, including cataract extraction and glaucoma surgery. The product functions by maintaining space in the anterior chamber and capsular bag, facilitating controlled surgical maneuvers such as capsulorhexis, and protecting the corneal endothelium and other ocular tissues from mechanical damage. It is typically supplied in a pre-filled 1ml syringe with a cannula for single-use administration.
