Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AuroVist is a gold nanoparticle-based contrast agent developed by Nanoprobes for preclinical X-ray and micro-CT imaging. It consists of gold nanoparticles, typically available in sizes of 1.9 nm or 15 nm, which provide high-intensity contrast by exploiting gold's high X-ray attenuation coefficient. Compared to traditional iodine-based agents, AuroVist offers superior contrast intensity, longer blood retention times, and the ability to image small vessels and tumors with high resolution. It is primarily used in animal models to study angiogenesis, tumor blood volume, and vascular structures. AuroVist is currently available for research use only and is not approved for human clinical applications.
