Overview

Autogene cevumeran is an investigational, individualized mRNA-based cancer vaccine designed to stimulate the immune system to recognize and attack tumor-specific neoantigens. Each dose is personalized based on the unique mutational profile of a patient's tumor, encoding up to 20 patient-specific neoantigens. The vaccine aims to induce robust CD8+ T cell responses against these antigens, potentially reducing disease recurrence after surgery in cancers such as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). It is being developed through a collaboration between BioNTech and Genentech/Roche, with clinical trials also involving Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Autogene cevumeran is typically studied in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors (e.g., atezolizumab) and chemotherapy regimens[1][3][6][10].
