Overview

Autogenous concentrated growth factor (CGF) is a third-generation platelet concentrate derived from the patient's own blood through a specialized centrifugation process using variable speeds. Unlike earlier generations such as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) or Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), CGF contains a denser fibrin matrix and a significantly higher concentration of growth factors and CD34+ stem cells. The preparation acts as a biological scaffold that slowly releases potent signaling molecules, including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1), and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF). These components work synergistically to promote angiogenesis, stimulate fibroblast proliferation, and enhance collagen synthesis. In aesthetic medicine, CGF is primarily investigated for facial rejuvenation to treat signs of aging by repairing the extracellular matrix and improving skin elasticity and volume.
