Overview

Autologous acute myeloid leukemia-eluted peptides refer to a personalized immunotherapy approach where naturally processed antigens are extracted from a patient's own leukemia cells using acid elution. This pool of peptides, representing the specific antigenic landscape of the individual's malignancy, is typically loaded onto autologous dendritic cells (DCs). These peptide-pulsed DCs are then used to prime and expand autologous T lymphocytes (both CD4+ and CD8+), inducing a targeted Th1 immune response and cytotoxic activity against the leukemia cells. This strategy aims to bypass the need for specific epitope identification and is primarily investigated for the treatment of minimal residual disease in high-risk AML patients.
