Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Autologous adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) is a cell therapy being evaluated by The Foundation for Orthopaedics and Regenerative Medicine for the treatment of cerebral palsy. The treatment involves the extraction of mesenchymal stem cells from the patient's own adipose tissue, which are then expanded in culture and administered via intravenous infusion. These cells are hypothesized to exert therapeutic effects through the secretion of paracrine factors, including neurotrophic and anti-inflammatory cytokines, which may help reduce neuroinflammation and promote the repair or protection of damaged neural tissues in patients with cerebral palsy.
