Overview

This investigational autologous cell therapy consists of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from a patient's own adipose tissue. Developed by the Second Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University in collaboration with Zhejiang Xingyue Biotechnology, the therapy is designed to treat chronic tendon injuries, specifically rotator cuff tears and lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow). The treatment process involves harvesting adipose tissue, isolating and expanding the MSCs in culture, and then re-administering them via multiple point injections directly into the site of the tendon injury. These cells are intended to promote tissue regeneration, modulate the local inflammatory environment, and improve functional outcomes compared to traditional corticosteroid treatments.
