This combination therapy involves the use of autologous adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) in conjunction with autologous microlipoinjection (fat grafting). The procedure typically involves harvesting adipose tissue from a patient, isolating and expanding the MSC population in vitro, and then mixing these cells with a fresh fat graft for reinjection into a target site. The primary goal of adding AD-MSCs to microlipoinjection is to improve the survival and retention of the fat graft, which often suffers from high resorption rates. AD-MSCs contribute to tissue regeneration through paracrine signaling, secreting angiogenic factors like VEGF and HGF that promote revascularization, and by differentiating into adipocytes and fibroblasts to provide structural support. This approach is primarily investigated for regenerative and aesthetic applications, including vocal fold atrophy, facial rejuvenation, and soft tissue defects.
