Autologous adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) combined with fibrin glue is a regenerative cell therapy approach. It involves the isolation of mesenchymal stem cells from a patient's own adipose tissue, which are then suspended in or applied with a fibrin glue matrix. The fibrin glue acts as a scaffold or carrier, facilitating the localization and retention of the cells at the site of injury while providing an extracellular matrix-like environment. This combination is primarily investigated for orthopedic and neurological repairs, such as rotator cuff tears, peripheral nerve regeneration, and spinal cord injuries. The therapeutic effect is mediated through the secretion of paracrine factors (neurotrophic and angiogenic growth factors), differentiation into relevant cell lineages, and structural support for tissue healing.
