Overview

Autologous adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) is a cellular therapy consisting of a heterogeneous population of cells extracted from a patient's own fat tissue. Developed by Tissue Genesis using the proprietary Icellator System, this therapy is specifically being investigated for the treatment of critical limb ischemia (CLI). The SVF contains a mixture of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), pericytes, and immune cells. When injected into ischemic tissue, these cells promote therapeutic angiogenesis, reduce local inflammation, and facilitate tissue repair through the paracrine secretion of various growth factors and direct differentiation into vascular components. The goal of the treatment is to restore blood flow to the affected limb, thereby reducing pain and preventing the need for amputation in patients with advanced peripheral artery disease.
