Overview

Autologous adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a regenerative cell therapy that leverages the synergistic effects of multipotent cells and concentrated growth factors. The SVF component is obtained via liposuction and enzymatic or mechanical processing of adipose tissue, yielding a heterogeneous cell population that includes adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs), endothelial progenitor cells, pericytes, and various immunomodulatory cells. The PRP component is derived from the patient's peripheral blood and contains high concentrations of platelets that, upon activation, release essential growth factors such as platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β). This combination, often termed platelet-rich stroma (PRS), is designed to promote tissue regeneration, enhance angiogenesis, and modulate inflammatory responses. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of therapy-refractory Crohn's perianal fistulas, knee osteoarthritis, diabetic foot ulcers, and other degenerative or inflammatory conditions.
