Overview

This investigational autologous cell therapy, developed by the Laboratory of Stem Cell Research and Application at the University of Science Ho Chi Minh City, consists of a combination of adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The SVF, which contains a heterogeneous population of cells including mesenchymal stem cells, is isolated from the patient's own adipose tissue (typically from the abdominal area), while the PRP is prepared from their peripheral blood. The therapy is administered via intra-articular injection to treat grade 2-3 knee osteoarthritis. It aims to promote cartilage regeneration and modulate inflammation through the combined action of stem cells and various growth factors released by the activated platelets.
