Overview

Autologous angiogenic cell precursors (ACPs), also known by the development code ACP-01 and the brand name VesCell, are a specialized population of blood-derived stem cells developed by Hemostemix. The therapy is produced by collecting a patient's peripheral blood, from which angiogenic cell precursors are isolated and expanded ex vivo using a proprietary process. These cells are then delivered via local injection (e.g., intramuscularly for critical limb ischemia or intramyocardially for heart disease) to promote the formation of new microvasculature and restore blood flow to ischemic tissues. ACP-01 has reached Phase III clinical development for critical limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) and is being explored for other cardiovascular conditions and vascular dementia. Hemostemix has established a manufacturing partnership with CytoImmune Therapeutics to utilize automated cell therapy systems for scaled production.
