Autologous anti-CD19 CAR-T cells are a form of adoptive cell immunotherapy where a patient's own T lymphocytes are genetically modified to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the CD19 antigen. CD19 is a cell surface protein consistently expressed across most B-cell lineages and malignancies. This specific therapeutic candidate, developed by Beijing Boren Hospital (often referred to as D19-cart), utilizes a mouse-derived single-chain variable fragment (scFv) for antigen recognition. Upon re-infusion into the patient, these engineered T cells recognize and bind to CD19-positive cells, leading to T-cell activation, proliferation, and the targeted cytotoxic destruction of B-cell leukemia or lymphoma cells. It is primarily being evaluated for the treatment of refractory or relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL).
