Overview

This is a personalized cell therapy where tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) or peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) are isolated from melanoma patients and genetically engineered to express a T-cell receptor (TCR) that specifically recognizes the gp100:154-162 peptide presented by HLA-A*0201. The gp100 protein is a melanocyte lineage-specific antigen highly expressed in melanoma cells. Upon reinfusion into patients following lymphodepleting conditioning, these engineered cells can recognize and target gp100-expressing melanoma cells, potentially leading to tumor regression.
