**Autologous blood injection** is a patient-specific, blood-derived biologic injection therapy evaluated by Chetan M. Dojode for lateral epicondylitis. In the reported randomized trial, 2 mL of venous blood obtained from the patient's contralateral upper limb was injected at the lateral epicondyle with 1 mL of 0.5% bupivacaine used as a procedural local anesthetic. The proposed therapeutic rationale is delivery of endogenous blood and platelet-associated growth factors that may initiate a local tendon-repair cascade in degenerative tendinosis. The intervention produced slower early pain improvement than corticosteroid injection but showed superior pain outcomes at 12 weeks and 6 months in the published study.
