Autologous bone marrow cell concentrate (BMCC) is a point-of-care cell therapy product derived from a patient's own bone marrow aspirate. Developed by Arteriocyte, Inc., the concentrate is prepared using the Magellan Autologous Platelet Separator System, which utilizes centrifugation to isolate a heterogeneous population of mononuclear cells, including hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), and endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs). The primary indication for this therapy is critical limb ischemia (CLI) in patients who have no other revascularization options. When injected intramuscularly into the ischemic limb, these cells are intended to promote therapeutic angiogenesis and arteriogenesis by secreting pro-angiogenic growth factors and directly participating in the formation of new microvasculature, thereby improving blood flow and reducing the risk of amputation.
