This is an investigational autologous cell therapy consisting of mononuclear cells derived from the patient's own bone marrow (BMMNCs), developed by the Andalusian Initiative for Advanced Therapies. The therapy is designed as an advanced therapy medicinal product (ATMP) for intracoronary infusion. It is primarily indicated for patients with chronic total coronary artery occlusions (CTO) who exhibit persistent left ventricular dysfunction (LVEF < 45%) following successful percutaneous revascularization. The mechanism of action relies on the regenerative potential of the bone marrow-derived cells, which are thought to stimulate neovascularization and myocardial tissue repair through paracrine signaling and direct cellular contribution, thereby improving cardiac function and preventing further ventricular remodeling.
