Autologous bone marrow progenitor cells (BMPC) are a cell therapy product derived from a patient's own bone marrow. The treatment involves harvesting bone marrow, processing it to isolate progenitor cells, and re-administering them to the patient. In the context of spinal cord injury (SCI), these cells are hypothesized to promote recovery through the secretion of neurotrophic factors, modulation of the inflammatory response, and potential support of endogenous repair mechanisms.
