Autologous CD30-directed CAR T-cells are an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by New York Medical College. This cell therapy is specifically designed to target CD30 (TNFRSF8), a cell surface marker highly expressed on the Reed-Sternberg cells characteristic of classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). The treatment protocol, often referred to as MAC-CAR, involves the administration of these engineered T-cells to pediatric and young adult patients with poor-risk cHL following myeloablative conditioning and autologous stem cell transplantation. The goal is to utilize the cytotoxic potential of the patient's own modified immune cells to eradicate residual lymphoma cells and improve long-term outcomes in high-risk populations.
