Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Investigational autologous CD8+ antigen-specific T-cell therapy developed by M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for the treatment of leptomeningeal melanoma. The therapy involves the ex vivo expansion of a patient's own CD8+ T cells, which are then administered intrathecally to target melanoma cells that have metastasized to the leptomeninges. This localized delivery method is intended to overcome the limitations of the blood-brain barrier in treating central nervous system involvement of melanoma.
