Overview

Autologous cord blood stem cells + autologous platelet-rich plasma is an investigational, cell-based biologic combination therapy being developed by the Shenyang Maternal and Child Care Service Center for the treatment of striae gravidarum (pregnancy-related stretch marks). The therapy consists of two autologous components derived from the patient's own cord blood at delivery: cord blood stem cells (hematopoietic and/or mesenchymal) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is a concentrate of platelets and growth factors. Administered via subcutaneous injection into the affected abdominal skin, the therapy aims to improve the appearance of stretch marks through stem cell-mediated tissue regeneration and the action of PRP-derived growth factors—such as PDGF, TGF-β, EGF, FGF, and VEGF—which stimulate collagen synthesis, fibroblast proliferation, and skin remodeling.
