Overview

Autologous cultured mixed population of dermal cells refers to a personalized cell therapy product created by isolating and culturing various types of skin (dermal) cells from an individual patient. The process involves harvesting a small sample of the patient's own skin tissue, expanding the constituent dermal cells (primarily fibroblasts, but also potentially including keratinocytes and melanocytes) in vitro under controlled laboratory conditions, and then re-injecting or applying these expanded cells back into the patient. This approach is used to repair or regenerate damaged or deficient skin tissue by promoting collagen production and extracellular matrix remodeling. The primary mechanism is believed to be through direct synthesis of collagen and elastin by transplanted fibroblasts as well as paracrine effects that stimulate endogenous wound healing pathways[1][4][6]. Indications include treatment for aging skin (wrinkles), acne scars, burns, chronic wounds, and other cutaneous defects[4][5]. The therapy is considered safe with mostly mild local adverse events such as redness or swelling at injection sites[4].
