Autologous dendritic cell-cytotoxic T lymphocyte (DC-CTL) therapy is an adoptive cellular immunotherapy developed by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenzhen Hospital for the treatment of malignant tumors. This personalized therapy involves harvesting a patient's peripheral blood mononuclear cells, which are then differentiated into dendritic cells (DCs) and T cells *ex vivo*. The DCs are loaded with tumor-associated antigens to serve as potent antigen-presenting cells, which are subsequently co-cultured with the patient's T cells to induce the generation of tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). Once expanded and activated, these CTLs are infused back into the patient, where they specifically recognize and eliminate tumor cells expressing the targeted antigens. This approach leverages the natural antigen-presentation capabilities of DCs to enhance the specificity and potency of the T-cell-mediated anti-tumor response.
