Autologous dendritic cell-induced killer (DIK) cells is an experimental adoptive cell therapy being developed by Jiangsu Decon Bio-Sci-Technology Co. Ltd. for the treatment of middle and advanced stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The therapy involves the isolation of a patient's own immune cells, specifically dendritic cells (DCs) and killer cells (often cytokine-induced killer cells), which are co-cultured to enhance the tumor-killing capacity of the effector cells. These DIK cells are then reinfused into the patient to stimulate a targeted anti-tumor immune response. This approach combines the potent antigen-presenting capabilities of dendritic cells with the direct cytotoxic activity of killer cells to overcome tumor-induced immunosuppression.
