Autologous dendritic cell preparation is a personalized cellular immunotherapy developed by the Lithuanian biotechnology company Froceth. The therapy involves the ex vivo generation of dendritic cells from a patient's own peripheral blood monocytes. These cells are matured and loaded with tumor-associated antigens, typically derived from the patient's own tumor tissue, to serve as professional antigen-presenting cells. Upon re-administration via intradermal injection, these primed dendritic cells migrate to the lymph nodes where they present tumor antigens to naive T cells, thereby inducing a robust, tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte response. Froceth is primarily developing this preparation as a chemoimmunotherapy for stage III ovarian cancer, where it is administered alongside standard chemotherapy to prevent recurrence and extend survival. It is also being investigated for other solid tumors, including melanoma and glioblastoma.
