Overview

**Autologous dendritic cell-tumor fusion vaccine** is a personalized therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for epithelial ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, and fallopian tube cancer. The investigational product is manufactured individually from a patient's own dendritic cells and surgically obtained tumor cells, which are chemically fused to create hybrid antigen-presenting cells. These fusion cells display a broad, patient-specific repertoire of tumor-associated antigens together with dendritic-cell costimulatory machinery, with the aim of inducing tumor-reactive CD4-positive helper and CD8-positive cytotoxic T-cell responses. In the Phase 2 protocol NCT00799110, the vaccine was evaluated alongside GM-CSF and imiquimod as separately administered immune adjuvants; it has no assigned INN, sponsor development code, or commercial brand name.
