An investigational **autologous dendritic cell therapeutic vaccine** developed by Baylor Research Institute for stage IV metastatic melanoma. The product is prepared from a patient's monocytes differentiated ex vivo into dendritic cells using GM-CSF and interferon alfa, loaded with heat-treated killed allogeneic melanoma cells as a broad source of melanoma-associated antigens, and activated with lipopolysaccharide. The antigen-loaded dendritic cells are intended to cross-present melanoma antigens and induce tumor-reactive CD8-positive T-cell responses, including responses against MART-1-expressing melanoma cells. It was evaluated in completed phase 1/2 studies, including a study in combination with cyclophosphamide; no proprietary name or sponsor development code has been identified.
