Overview

Autologous dendritic cells + lymphocytes refers to a combination cell therapy approach in which a patient’s own (autologous) dendritic cells (DCs) and lymphocytes (typically T cells) are collected, processed, and reintroduced as a form of personalized immunotherapy. Dendritic cells, often derived from peripheral blood monocytes, are potent antigen-presenting cells that can be loaded ex vivo with tumor antigens (including lysates or neoantigens from the patient's tumor). These antigen-loaded DCs are intended to activate T cells (lymphocytes), stimulating a tumor-directed cytotoxic immune response. The therapy may involve co-infusion or sequential infusion of both autologous DCs and effector lymphocytes, aiming to enhance antitumor immunity, especially in cancer indications such as melanoma, glioblastoma, renal cell carcinoma, and breast cancer.
