Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This autologous cellular immunotherapy, developed by PT. JES Kasih Nusantara Sejahterah, is an investigational treatment for diabetic kidney disease (DKD). The therapy consists of a mixed population of autologous dendritic cells and lymphocytes harvested from the patient's peripheral blood, which are then cultured ex vivo and matured using the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein as an activating antigen. Administered as a single subcutaneous injection, the cell product is designed to modulate systemic inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, and renal fibrosis. The primary therapeutic goal is the reduction of albuminuria, as measured by the urine albumin-creatinine ratio (UACR). Clinical evaluations conducted at Gatot Soebroto Central Army Hospital in Indonesia also assess the therapy's impact on inflammatory biomarkers such as IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, and TGF-β, as well as its potential benefits for comorbid conditions like peripheral neuropathy and knee osteoarthritis.
