Overview

This autologous dendritic cell-based immunotherapy is a personalized cancer vaccine developed by the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. It is specifically designed for patients with recurrent non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (pTa). The production process involves isolating monocytes from the patient's blood, differentiating them into dendritic cells ex vivo, and loading them with peptides from two tumor-associated antigens: Mucin 1 (MUC-1) and Wilms' tumor 1 (WT-1). These primed dendritic cells are then re-administered to the patient to stimulate a targeted cytotoxic T-lymphocyte response against cancer cells expressing these antigens, potentially preventing or delaying disease recurrence.
